(Understanding Emmanuel Barbee Vision For Black America & Africa)
The Grass Roots Community Activist Institute mission to eradicate urban violence in Chicago through our programs and services. Our vision to become a world class institution that equips Black entrepreneurs and provide an infrastructure for our local Artist by putting into action the principles from my revised book to help rebuild Black Wall Street in our inner cities that will transform desolate places into flourishing community for God’s glory.
The Grass Roots Community Activist Institute will have a nonprofit cooperative sector and in time we will also have a for profit service base business sector. Our nonprofit cooperative sector will focus on Black entrepreneurs. Our goal is to transform office space, event space, restaurants, interactive space and performing arts. GRCAI is meant to use Chicago as a model city before we expand to 10 African nations.
GRCAI will be dedicated in providing quality programming, rental office space, and resources to independent filmmakers, visual artists, and Black entrepreneurs. Emmanuel has been doing his best to collaborate with Black digital designers, engineers and Black entrepreneurs in order to rebuild the black community, share ideas, and change the world. Now Emmanuel is taking his vision to the next level The Big Screen in his upcoming urban Christian film (Hood Liberator Made In Chicago: The War Against Willie Lynch Begins). This is Emmanuel Barbee last attempt to try to do something positive for his racial group in America.
GRCAI will become a hub for Black entrepreneurs. GRCAI will offer quality programs and services within the inner cities in Chicago as a way to invest in young people with an emphasis on programming, access to mentors, educational resources, potential investors and a community of like-minded Black entrepreneurs to help rebuild successful black businesses.
Emmanuel Barbee continue to seek Black Middle Class Professionals who are digital designers, engineers, architects and inventors to assist him in rebuilding Black Wall Street so that we can have an economic base before expanding his Christian business to Africa. We believe that we have our own Hollywood of talent right here in our social groups and in Chicago. A community of Authors, Bloggers, Writers, Directors, Cinematographers, Poets and Storytellers that have the genius to shoot, execute and develop some of the best content that has yet to be seen. Whether you are an established independent producer, a crew member looking to create your own content, or a recent college graduate, GRCAI is here to help turn your dreams into reality.
We will offer hands on training in Podcasting, Film/Video Production, Marketing and Audio Production. We will use state of the art technology to solidify our position at the forefront of broadcasting education. Our hands-on, training will give our students the tools they need to be competitive in todays’ marketplace.
Film & Video Production
Our film and video production program will provide contemporary and traditional skills in modern production of digital video content. Our program will prepare students with pre-production, shooting, editing and techniques of lighting.
Marketing
Selling any show or new act can be difficult, our institute will have the modules you need to target your audience. Our students will learn how to construct a successful sales package from day, giving them a valuable edge over the competition.
Audio Production
Our Audio Production Program will provide an entry into the field of studio-based audio recording and production. Our students will gain skills in audio editing through our in-studio recording center. Our students will learn theory of acoustics, electronics, and audio components, and how to record, track, mix music in an audio facility. Our students will learn and practice the industry standard audio engineering software. The course also provides instruction on the music and broadcasting industries and the range of professional opportunity as an audio engineer and music business professional. In addition our students will learn:

Technology
GRCAI started as the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement. We are in the process of hiring web developers/web programmers to teach our students about Coding and designing in our virtual classrooms where every participant will work with one another and join in the spirit of collaboration and learning. Whether you’re a beginner or advancing student, we will help build up the Black community, enlarging the market of people that can affect change and solve problems with technology. Our students will learn how to develop their your own websites and mobile application. Finally, GRCAI will have an indoor sports and party facility with 3 turf soccer fields, a basketball courts, banquet hall, restaurant and a worship center.
