Welcome to Help Stop The Genocide In American Ghettos Podcast, I’m Emmanuel Barbee the creator and host of this show. This podcast is a solution base approach to addressing and solving black issues starting in America. This video podcast is also about group interaction, Global Black Unity, Kingdom Building and Black Empowerment in the 21 Century. The Grass Roots Community Activist Movement is about making Black Liberation a reality throughout the African Diaspora.
This is an interactive podcast were we address social issues that are important to Black People in the Black Community: Community Safety, Urban Violence, Unemployment, Mass Incarceration, Failing Schools, Police Brutality, Inadequate Healthcare/Housing, Urban Gentrification and Institutionalized Racism. This podcast is also about educating Black People by providing a forum in which Artists, Authors, Black Business Owners and Black Christian Leaders can gather together in a supportive environment. When we say community, we mean it. We are not affiliated with any organizations we are independent. The Grass Roots Community Activist Movement incites social change through community engagement that cultivates knowledge, dialogue and action within the Black Community starting in Chicago. Our vision is to incite empathy, thought, dialogue and action through our podcast, our future urban Christian film (Hood Liberator Made In Chicago: The War Against Willie Lynch Begings). We are on the front lines battling corporate radio on behalf of the Black Community.

The only thing which is preventing me from turning my virtual Christian socialist organization (GRCAM) the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement into a real Black Christian Business (GRCAI) the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute is the lack of manpower and the capital this is why I turned to social media to get my message out to the public through my Youtube videos, my Social Groups, my Blog Postings, my online talkshow, my revised book and now through my future urban Christian film (Hood Liberator Made In Chicago: The War Against Willie Lynch Begins). This is my last attempt to try to do something positive for my racial group in America.
Tonight’s presentation (Recruiting Seasoned Film Crew & Quality Actors For My Film Project)
I have completed my training at Chicago Film Makers. I took several classes in order to learn the ins and outs of becoming a film director and a producer. I learned how to write a film proposal and a film budget. I also learned how to connect with Angel Investors and Sponsors.
I am asking all of my Christian friends on my friends list to please pray that The Lord will allow the IRS to approve my 501(c)(3) application so I can begin soliciting Angel Investors and Sponsors to invest $400,000 into my film project. Then I can hire qualified film crew such as Sound Technician, Graphic Designers, Assistant Director, Director of Photography, Camera Assistant, Hair & Makeup Artist and Production Assistant and of course quality actors.
Pray with me that The Lord will continue to protect my Facebook page from hackers in Jesus name. All of my social groups from Google, MSN, AOL, Netscape etc… has been deleted.
I continue to stress to my active group members to exchange emails with me, so we can stay connected. I’ve been on Facebook for 16 years, and this is my second Facebook Page. I am on social media for one reason which is to recruit brave and smart Black People from around the globe to work with me in turning my ideas into reality starting in Chicago. Unlike the Black Panther film which had a large budget and a feel good story that benefit Walt Disney Studios. My story aims to benefit the Black Community, provide a temporary job for people on my friends list, and people, who are able to travel to Chicago to audition for a role in the film.
The proceeds from the film will help put me in a better position financially to buy business equipment, hire qualified Black Middle Class Professionals, who will make sure the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute is effective as well as for me to purchase property in America and in Africa. Hood Liberator Made In Chicago: The War Against Willie Lynch Begins will be a biographical drama film/hybrid documentary. A hybrid documentary is a film that combines non-fiction filmmaking with traditional fiction filmmaking. This film is based on my revised book (The Solution For Black America: Reclaiming, Rebuilding And Restoring The Urban Ghettos In America) second edition.
This film dramatizes key events in my life: Illegally being taken away from my home and toss into the foster care system, a black boy who beat the odds of growing up in the inner cities of Chicago, dealing with a broken family, including my mother’s mental breakdown, doing street ministry and my experience dealing with racism are dramatized in flashbacks. Through hard work I graduated from college and set out to create a new type of business in the Black Community known as the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute.
GRCAI is based on my experience. My creator has given it to me, and I claim ownership. Yeshua has called me to deliver my people, who reside in the inner cities of America starting in Chicago by making an impact in the economy and in the Black Community. I explain to my members that America is the new Egypt based on symbols on the American dollar, the Monument on Washington which is a replica of Ancient Egypt obelisk and the mistreatment of Black Americans as a collective. Scriptures to support my claim are found in Genesis 15:13–14, Deuteronomy 28:68, Ezekiel 34:11–13 and I Samuel 2:8 My goal is to rebuild Black Wall Street through my business starting in Chicago while reconnecting ourselves to Africa and the Global Black Family.
The Plot/Synopsis
Emmanuel was born into poverty a poor single parent family on the Southside of Chicago. His mother Esther Barbee allowed Emmanuel God father Any Austin to mentor him in hopes that he will learn valuable life lessons about becoming a man and to learn about God.
Emmanuel went with his God father several times to a farm outside of the city. He watched his God father kill a chicken and he also went on a hunting trip. Emmanuel God father told him about his military experience in the Vietnam War. He advised Emmanuel not to join the army, arguing that a black man has no place in the army. Emmanuel elder brother Javon was a heroin addicted in and out of jail. His second elder brother Melvin was a petty drug dealer.
When Emmanuel was seven years old, the Chicago police raided his mother’s apartment because his elder brother Melvin was selling illegal drugs. A black woman from the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) came out to investigate. He encouraged Emmanuel to come with her on a camping trip to see wild animals in the forest. Emmanuel’s mother agreed to allow him to go with her so that he can escape city life for the weekend. Unaware of this woman hidden agenda to place Emmanuel into the foster Care System she gave her consent to the woman. After Emmanuel return from the camping trip the woman refuse to take Emmanuel home instead she put him in several homes until he went to court and was sentenced to eleven years as a ward of the state. His mother was in court and had to be escorted out due to her loud
Outburst.
Emmanuel’s mother’s mental state deteriorated and eventually she was admitted to a mental institution. Emmanuel was place into a foster home. He was toss from several homes. Finally, his last home his foster brother tried to take his manhood and Emmanuel fought back by stabbing his foster brother in the arm. Emmanuel was removed from his foster home to a place called Pritzker near the University of Chicago Hospital. He was evaluated by a white woman who was a child psychologist. She labeled him as mentally retarded. Emmanuel was then placed in a group home called Lutherbrook Children Center. It had four main cottages Field Cottage, Siegel Cottage, Stream Cottage and Lake Cottage holding 15 kids in each cottage.
Emmanuel was retested as having dyslexia not retardation but the staff still treated him as such. Emmanuel attend private school within the group home. He performed well in school and dream of becoming a lawyer, but his special ed teachers told him to focus on being a janitor.
Emmanuel was encouraged by his case worker to join Afro group to learn more about the black culture. He read about Marcus Garvey, Dr. King Jr., Nelson Mandela and Malcolm X. He was sadden to learn that Malcolm X was killed by Black Muslims from the Nation of Islam.
Emmanuel form an anti-bully group to fight against the older kids who were terrorizing smaller kids. He organized ten members into two group. Group A would focus on getting weapons such as duct tape, belts and baseball bats. Group B would focus on surveillance about the exact time the staff change shifts and who will be working that day or night. The goal was to attack each bully hard and fast and send a message to them that a new day has come. After six months of fighting bully’s the cottage where Emmanuel stayed became bully free. In 1980 the group home started receiving more inner city youth from Chicago. Many of them were gang affiliated. Emmanuel tried to intervene when he saw black kids fighting each other. He was able to get the black kids to lay down their gang ties for the sake of peace in the group home.
In 1983 Emmanuel was place back into the Foster Care System. He was place in an alternative school for children with behavioral problems called Ada S. Mckinney Therapeutic Center located on the Southside of Chicago. Emmanuel was harassed by gang members and became a victim of gang violence. He asked his foster parents if they could send him to another school they decline. Emmanuel begin feeling self-hatred and was about to give up on life until he start reading the Bible.
He felt that his creator was talking directly to him as he read about Joseph being sold into slavery by his brothers and became the second most powerful man in Egypt next to Pharaoh. He could not understand why God had allow him to experience a fought childhood? From his interpretation God was allowing him to experience what many inner city youth are going through and through his future Christian business he will know how to work with broken families that want to utilize his services.
Emmanuel got fed up with his foster father trash talking his biological mother that he ran away. He traveled from the far Southside of Chicago to North Lawndale where his mother was living. He stop by his cousin apartment because he remember bits and pieces that his cousin lived between Mozart and Roosevelt. Emmanuel mother’s friend seen him and escorted him to his mother’s apartment. Emmanuel case worker called and ask to speak with him. Emmanuel explain to the social worker what happen and demanded his freedom. Emmanuel was told he had to return back to the foster home and they will discuss his future living arrangements.
Emmanuel was reunited back to his mother in December of 1984. His mother was on fifteen different types of medication due to stress caused by Emmanuel being taken away from her.Emmanuel attend Crane High School and got into a fight on his first day of school. Emmanuel selected a group of smart brothers to hang around for survival. A war rages between two rival gangs the Egyptian Cobras and the Insane Goons who are fighting for control over the neighborhood by terrorizing students who are trying to get an education and terrorizing community residents. One of Emmanuel school mate was robbed at school in the boy’s bathroom.
Emmanuel and his other school mates search for the robbers and confronted them in another bathroom. Emmanuel push down a teen who pulled out a knife while his school mates fought against the robbers. Emmanuel wanted to keep his school mates safe and protected from bully’s and gang bangers so he organized a research group and being reaching out to juniors, seniors and athletes (Basketball Players/Foot Ball Players) about assisting them with finding grants and scholarships for college for free in exchange for them to keep an eye out for his school mates. In addition, he offers a small fee for doing term papers. Many of Emmanuel’s school mates begin dropping out of high school.
Emmanuel came home early from school and notice when he entered his mother apartment that his elder brother Javon was abusing their mother by hitting her with a belt. Emmanuel confronted his elder brother and his brother pull out a knife on him and threat his life. Later that evening Emmanuel called his friend and ask them to help him beat down his elder brother. His mother over heard him planning to attack his elder brother she ask Emmanuel not to harm her son that the battle is not his but The Lord Emmanuel called off his plan.
Emmanuel graduate in 1989 and begin college at Nation Lewis University. He was accepted into a special program called Passport To College for high school students entering college. The rough life Emmanuel had as a child had caused him how to cope with his temper. Emmanuel got kick out of a college program because of a unprovoked incident. A twisted brother by the name of Alfred hit Emmanuel in the head with a apple pie.
After getting into a fight with a fellow classmate Emmanuel went to the college recruiter and explain to him what had happen. Emmanuel was ask to leave the premises. Emmanuel explain to the recruiter that he wants to get out of the ghetto by getting an education and starting a Black Business that will help turn around the Black Community if given a chance. The recruiter told Emmanuel about another program called the Bridge Program for returning adults and agreed to allow him to go through the program if he promised not to get into anymore fights. Emmanuel agreed. Emmanuel transferred to Northeastern Illinois University in 1990.
Emmanuel was exposed to socialism by an attractive black woman he wanted to know on a personal level. After several months trying to talk with the young lady he gave up on pursuing her. Emmanuel started doing street ministry on the weekends passing out cheese sandwiches and peanut butter & jelly sandwiches to homeless individuals in the Austin and Garfield Park community during the evening hours. Emmanuel ran across Hebrew Israelites, Moors of America, members of the Nation of Islam, Nuwaubians and Pan-Africanist. They all had different philosophes when Emmanuel ask them to work with him in rebuilding Black Wall Street in Chicago they mock him. After two years of doing street ministry Emmanuel turn to the internet to recruit and promote his virtual Christian socialist organization the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement.
Emmanuel created (GRCAM) the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement in 1991 on a site called Gopher. He wanted to help raise awareness about the genocide which is taking place within our inner cities in America starting in Chicago. GRCAM spiritual objective is to serve the Black Community while meeting the need, advocate for community residents and push towards righteousness in social structures and edify the body of Christ.
GRCAM is dedicated to promoting the gospel and enriching relationships among believers. He also wanted to connect with other like-minded African Americans, Afro-Brazilians, Afro-Canadians, Afro-Caribbeans, Afro-Europeans, African Immigrants and Native Africans from around the globe. Emmanuel begin expanding his message on major social networks such as Yahoo, Google, MSN Lycos, Excite, AOL, Netscape and Black Planet in hopes of attracting 30 Black Middle Class Professionals within the United States to join his management team in order to turn his ideas into reality through his future Christian business known as (GRCAI) the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute starting in Chicago. Nehemiah was called by God to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. He did not build that wall by himself he had a professional team people like Architects, Brick layers and Engineers.
Like wise, Emmanuel wants Black Middle-Class Professionals who have the following credentials: Investors, Business Partners, Black Entrepreneurs, Social Entrepreneurs and Philanthropist. He also wanted legitimate Film Producers, Actors, Stage Managers, Grant Writers, Technical Directors, Marketers, Computer Graphic Designers, Accountants, Business Administrators, Social Workers, Financial Planners, Lawyers, Real Estate Brokers and Insurance Agents. Emmanuel wrote out his articles of incorporation and bylaws typed and available for his Nonprofit Cooperative. Emmanuel also had his articles of organization typed and available for his For Profit Service Based Business. GRCAI will have five components:
1.Social Service component
2.Spiritual component which will be optional for secular people
3.Entertainment component
4.Entrepreneur component
5.Political component
In time a Health & Wellness component and a Media component. Under the For Profit Service Based Business: we will offer state-of-the-art recreational center that will offer bowling, high ropes adventure courses, captivating game rooms featuring the latest video and amusement, stylish billiards, energetic dance rooms and high-quality restaurants, various businesses, onsite childcare and an onsite music recording studio for our students making documentary films and stage plays. In addition, we will host family fun activities including combination deals, birthday parties, weddings and corporate parties/events.
Under the Nonprofit Cooperative: GRCAI will be governed by an Advisory Board. GRCAI will be membership based and operated for the mutual benefit of our members. Also, any earnings we make are returned to our members in the forms of lower prices through our quality programs and services.
In 1996 Emmanuel graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s in Sociology. He launched Help Stop The Genocide In American Ghettos which was an extension of the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement. He wants to turn his ideas into a real Christian business known as (GRCAI) the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute.
The Spiritual realm. GRCAI is more than just a new business endeavor it’s a new system counter to capitalism. Everyone is treated equally and with respect. GRCAI uses drones to help fight against crime in the Black Community. Emmanuel uses his groups to mobilize his members in 10 cities through discussion forms, online teleconferences and webinars. GRCAI aim to unity the Diaspora. The Grass Roots Community Activist Institute objective is to become the heart of the Black Community on Westside of Chicago specifically in Austin, Garfield Park and North Lawndale. GRCAI also plans on expanding to the Southside of Chicago and send scouts to help replicate the business in order to make Chicago a model for other cities in America. GRCAI functions in these areas community co-op, community grocery stores, community healthcare and community housing. GRCAI operates on two fronts a domestic front and on an international front.
On a domestic front:
To create a sense of national urgency about the genocide which is taken place within our inner cities in America starting in Chicago. We will achieve this through journalism, changing the narrative through our films and stage plays. We strive to educate and enlarge our audience of concern citizens who care about solving black issues in America.
To eradicate urban violence in Chicago through our programs and services.
To tackle poverty, institutionalized racism and police brutality within the Black Community.
To promote economic opportunities in the African American community by becoming an advocate and resource for our members.
To offer a second chance program for ex-offenders of non-violent crimes, former gang members and homeless individuals within the community.
To provide programs and services to strengthen the black family by creating jobs and building a strong economic base.
To heal collectively from this Willie Lynch mentality in America and on the African continent heal from this colonized mentality.
To examine the Amish community, the Asian community and the Jewish community. So that we can practice group economics and form our own code of conduct.
To get our house in order first before we invite none black sympathizers into our space.
On an international front:
(GRCAI of Africa) the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute of Africa plan on hiring African immigrants in America to encourage the Diaspora to set up a chapter in South Africa and eventually expand to 9 other African Nations Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Angola, Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda.
Emmanuel encourage his international friends to encourage African governments to allow the Diaspora to have citizenship within 5 years if they are serious about us doing business on the African continent.
GRCAI of Africa will go through the proper channels with the African government to start our (NGO) Non-government organization. GRCAI of Africa will offer private employment to our members based on our budget and our sponsorship. We will provide infrastructure for clean running water, agricultural technology to feed the people, offer solar and wind energy to help our members with their electrical generators and most of all help improve the African economy as well as educate the people about the problems with Capitalism. In time, we will expand to Brazil and specific places in the Caribbean such as Barbados, Bahamas, Haiti and Jamaica.
