(GRCAM Making Our Presence Known On Facebook)

The Grass Roots Community Activist Movement is an interactive faith base and social justice organization that focuses on health and wellness, leadership development, and 21st century community building in the African American community and for our brothers and sisters throughout the African Diaspora. GRCAM uses social groups as a way to connect busy people and for others who prefer to remain in their comfort zones, it’s convenient without traveling in the privacy of your home. One way GRCAM interacts with our members is through our live online events until we are able to turn GRCAM into a real Christian business starting in Chicago.

By focusing our efforts on creating safe space in two main areas, we aim to create opportunities for our community to thrive unapologetically in their truths:

*Health and Wellness — We see health as a broad concept encompassing the wellbeing of our whole persons, and our whole community by promoting community urban farming, healthy cooking and eating initiatives.

*Leadership Development — We will hold bi-monthly workshops with such topics as political education, job preparedness, campaign organizing and more, in order to ensure there are inter-generational opportunities in our community.

Help Stop The Genocide In American Ghettos Podcast is a platform used to connect GRCAM Group Members worldwide in one place.

GRCAM is on a mission to empower Black People worldwide

We aim to generate opportunities for ourselves, our families, and our future to engage in healing, community building, and the creation of kinship. We strive to educate, empower, and embolden each other through sharing skills, knowledge and resources as we build towards the liberation of our people. We’re talking about ordinary law-abiding citizen who are overlooked. Hard workers who are undervalued and underappreciated in our community. The ones who are truly trying to improve the black community yet has little to no support. People like me who want to make a real difference in the black community before making our presence in Africa that’s where credibility is made.

The Grass Roots Community Activist Movement began back in November 1991 on a site called Gopher because I was dissatisfied with all of the division taking place among Black People I wanted to start a new movement in Black America and throughout the African Diaspora in order to connect with like minded Progressive African Americans, Afro-Brazilians, Afro-Canadians, Afro-Caribbeans, Afro-Europeans, African Immigrants and Native Africans throughout the African Diaspora. I realized that with the right tools, and with access to community resources we could rebuild Black Wall Street by helping one another.

It starts with changing the negative Willie Lynch mentality within our racial group. GRCAM will offer a new perspective to our members who want to learn and value life. GRCAM will help challenge our members and help them find their purpose that’s what we will provide one place to develop all aspects of work-life, family, emotional and social. GRCAM will built our platform to be a community with lots of great tools and a “stronger together” mentality.

GRCAM aims to

•Foster empathy, positivity and encouragement in the community we serve
•Promote economic opportunities in the Black Community by being an advocate & resource
•Encourage our members to strive towards their personal life goals
•Able to face life challenges with confidence of a support group

We also emphasize “living what we believe.” This means we will create job opportunities in order to reinvest in our community. We will offer new technology to help our organization become competitive and effective online and on the street. But what it all comes down to is GRCAM will be a place where people help people. And GRCAM will be a company that develops and uses technology to serve people. Our members are a constant source of inspiration to us. We’ve experienced amazing growth over the years.
