(Getting Ready To Launch My Story: Hood Liberator Made In Chicago)
Help Wanted Artists, Writers, and Performers please make yourself known to me for my time behind a computer is numbered once I am out in the field I won’t be online that often. I’m calling all Actors/Actresses, Artists, Comedians, Dancers, Fashion Designers, Film Makers, Models, Musicians, Poets, Gospel Singers, Writers, Christians and Entrepreneurs on my friends list/ people in my social groups to support me by purchasing my revising book and sharing my book information with all of your family, friends, place of worship and also at your community center; this will help speed up the process for me to hire qualified people who will assist me with the daily operation of my Christian organization.
I am currently taking film making classes and should be done by September. I will learn the ins and outs of being a producer and film director so that I can turn my book into a motion film. The title of my film “Hood Liberator Made In Chicago” will be an urban Christian film based on my revised book “The Solution For Black America: Reclaiming, Rebuilding, And Restoring The Urban Ghettos In America” second edition I provide the link at the end of this blog.
The length of my film will be between 10 to 20 minutes and will be set in Chicago. I will promote the film on Youtube and at film festivals, seminars and screenings until I am able to gather sponsors to fund the full movie. Synopsis:
Ignorance is a choice in the information age there is no excuse why most blacks in America remain sleep. Established black organizations in the city of Chicago has been a thorn in my flesh. No black organizations in Chicago has been willing to work with me for the past 26 years. The failure of black leadership is unacceptable to me as a black man and I plan on doing something about it through my future Christian organization.
African Americans have been protesting and marching for equality in the United States for 52 years and still black people continue to chanting no justice no peace no racist police are just slogans. Our focus is on African Americans from the lower economic class who are suffering great harm from senseless violence, high unemployment, mass incarceration, police brutality, drug abuse, high illiteracy, inadequate healthcare and failing schools as a result of institutionalized racism. Since 2001, over 4,000 people in Chicago alone has been victims of urban violence making Chicago one of the murder capitals in America.
I have been running across small minded brothers and sisters in person and online who only complain about the white man, the government, Jews owning the media and that black people don’t own anything etc…but when I ask them to work with me to create a new Black Wall Street they stop communicating with me or remain passive spectators on my friends list. It’s not my fault that I am unable to find qualified people in my city to join my management team.
This is why I wrote my story (The Solution For Black America) in hopes of attracting 30 black middle class professionals and others within the United States who have read my story and who meet the criteria that I am looking for which are as follows: Investors, Business Partners, Christian Entrepreneurs, Social Entrepreneurs and Philanthropist.
I am also looking for legitimate Film Producers, Actors, Stage Managers, Grant Writers/Fundraisers, Technical Directors, Marketers, Accountants, Business Administrators, Social Workers, Financial Planners, Lawyers, Real Estate Brokers and Insurance Agents after they pass the criminal background checks, I will discuss compensation and incentives with them behind closed doors. I have my articles of incorporation and my bylaws typed and available for my Nonprofit Cooperative. I also have my articles of organization typed and available for my For Profit Service Based Business.
Since established black organizations in my city have refuse to work with me to improve our inner cities in the Chicagoland area I have decided to make my future business membership based and private. None of my members will never have to experience un-necessary humiliation just for trying to do something positive in the black community. Furthermore, we will not be under the Red, Black, and Green flag we will create a new flag and separate ourselves from harden criminals within the black community.
Our focus is on meeting the social needs of the community we will serve as well as work directly with single black families that want to utilize our programs and services. The only thing which is preventing me from starting my Christian organization is the lack of manpower and the capital this is why I am on social media to get my message out to the public through my Youtube videos, my Social Groups, my Blog Postings, my online talkshow and now through my revised book. In Chicago, there are two voices that claim to have their best interest in the African American community Reverend Jesse Jackson and Minister Louis Farrakhan but for twenty two years there has been another voice which has been overlooked by established black organizations in Chicago his name is Emmanuel Barbee.
Emmanuel Barbee is the founder and president of the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement. He is also a professional blogger, an online talkshow host, an upcoming social entrepreneur, a new urban author and the producer of this film. He wants give back to his community and make his organization to a one of the best African American business throughout the Midwest and in Africa. We will utilize theater, films and community outreach to bring racial groups together in a community that embraces similarities and fosters dialogue, understanding and acceptance.
This story focus on Emmanuel experience growing up in the inner cities of Chicago, and how he survived. The most important message in this film is his mission to eradicate urban violence, poverty, structural inequality, institutionalized racism, and police brutality within the communities and cities they will serve if given a chance.
To strengthen single black families while at the same time meet the social needs of the urban communities and families that want to utilize our programs and services if given a chance.
To become an infrastructure for aspirating artist and upcoming black entrepreneurs.
To provide private employment to our clients/members based on our budget and our sponsorship.
To offer a second chance program for ex-offenders of non-violent crimes, former gang members and homeless individuals.
To develop equal partnership with community residents who become members.
To create our own independent political party and push to get our laws on the books.
To equip men and women to serve and lead with integrity, creativity, competence and compassion in a diverse, interconnected and increasingly urbanized the community and the world.
To create economic development in urban communities by starting a new Black Wall Street which will help make our community compete in the global marketplace.
To create vibrant business through mentoring and education.
To provide quality programs and services that targets black people and others in accelerating businesses initiatives and strengthen the African American community by creating jobs, which would fuel the economic growth, and building our community. This awareness of entrepreneurship will in kind create self-sufficiency.
Emmanuel created (GRCAM) the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement back in November 1991 on a site called Gopher. He created his virtual Christian organization in order to help raise awareness about the genocide which is taking place within our inner cities in America, as well as for him to connect with other like-minded individuals who share his concern to form a legitimate coalition across the United States and around the globe for his cause Help Stop The Genocide In American Ghettos starting in the city of Chicago. GRCAM is a new movement in Black America in the digital age.
Emmanuel calls upon minded Progressive African Americans, African Immigrants, Afro-Brazilian/Afro-Caribbean Immigrants within the United States and throughout the African Diaspora. He also calls all Christian denominations, Millennials, Non-black sympathizers, moderate Muslims and secular people to work with him in turning his vision into a reality for Emmanuel is just one black man with a plan it takes a team to make a dream.
We will promote an authentic form of Christianity for me that is Christian socialist organization. A Christian socialist is a form of socialism based on the teachings of Jesus. Many Christian socialists believe that capitalism is idolatrous and rooted in greed, social inequality, and institutionalized racism which most Christian denominations consider a mortal sin. We will focus on what we stand for: love, compassion, social justice, and liberation theology.
Jesus told us to focus on the lease of these in society according to Matthew 25:35–40. He also commanded us to be a witness to others not just for us to read his word, but to activate social change in the world according to Luke 4:18–19. We will show an authentic form of Christianity by being committed to the healing ministry of Jesus by showing compassion to inner city youth and their families which will promote dignity to the people and community we will serve.
Emmanuel’s goal now is to turn GRCAM into a real Christian business (GRCAI) the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute of Chicago. GRCAI will operate under 5 separate functions within the African American community.

2. A Spiritual component (optional for secular people)

4. An Entertainment component
5. An Entrepreneur component
The Grass Roots Community Activist Institute of Chicago will take the lead in promoting the best in black culture and preserving the black family while improving the social conditions in the black community for future generations. Emmanuel believe we have a large pool of talent artist and entrepreneurs right here in the Midwest. A community of writers, directors, cinematographers, and storytellers that have the genius to shoot, execute and develop some of the best content in America has yet to see.
GRCAI will promote the Chicago Black Renaissance. The Chicago Black Renaissance was a creative movement from the Black Belt on the South Side of Chicago during the 1930s and 1940s that transform art and culture through the turn of the century. The movement included such famous African-American writers as Richard Wright, Margaret Walker, Gwendolyn Brooks, Arna Bontemps, and Lorraine Hansberry, as well as musicians such as Thomas A. Dorsey, Louis Armstrong, and Earl Hines. During the Great Migration, which brought thousands of African-Americans to Chicago. This gave rise to African-American writers, artists, and community leaders and a new black consciousness, similar to that of the Harlem Renaissance in New York City. GRCAI will promote our artists, authors, dancers, film makers and musicians with all aspects of their creative practice.
GRCAI is about building a strong unified global community and providing basic resources to communities and families that want to utilize our programs and services. The Grass Roots Community Activist Institute will be private in order for us to weed out fake blacks and others who don’t care about inner-city youth, their families, or the black community. Half of GRCAI will be a Nonprofit Cooperative, governed by an Advisory Board. GRCAI will be membership based and operated for the mutual benefit of our members. Also, any earnings we make are returned to our members in the forms of lower prices through our quality programs and services. Our members come first and we will be committed to providing trusted and understandable information.
We will work towards keeping our members healthy, informed, and safe.
Everyone will be screen and must attend our mandatory orientation and sign the community pledge no exceptions. No harden criminals, No active gang members, No urban terrorist, No pedofiles, and no half steppers allowed in my organization this is how I get down. GRCAI is open to all ordinary law-abiding citizens, all racial groups, and undiscovered artist. This is my contribution back to my community, society and throughout the African Diaspora.
This film depicts urban communities in America where people are deprived of luxuries, and in constant struggle to survive. The burden of his struggle falls on Emmanuel shoulders as he tries to protect his elderly mother in a hostile environment. His family lives in the midst of violence wrought by local drug gangs, who control the neighborhood. Children living in those communities have a bleak future attending a failing school system and trying to survive on a daily basis to adulthood.
Emmanuel does his best to get others within and beyond his community to work with him in starting a new movement in Black America which he believes will bring about real change from the bottom up. He has a hard time convincing others to join his cause “Help Stop The Genocide In American Ghettos.” But his ultimate goal is to find thirty people in Chicago to work with him in starting his Christian organization the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute of Chicago.
We want everyone to enjoy important cinematic works of creativity, intellectual expansion, identity, and equality in our stage plays and films. In this world there are no boundaries around people because they are embraced in a universal understanding of humanity. Today more than at any other time there are more films by black directors, more films on the black experience, and more films with featured black actors enjoyed by all audiences.
GRCAI will distinguish itself through our presentation of outstanding works that shine a different or comprehensive light on African Diaspora life and culture –no matter what the filmmaker’s race or nationality. GRCAI is paving the road in the new millennium by breaking through boundaries that keep our communities from knowing their own stories.
The Low Income African American Community:
The inner city offers few productive activities for those, who are trapped in American ghettos. There are some community organizations which offers programs for troubled youths, but space and funding are extremely limited. Apart from playgrounds and a few recreational centers, there are few safe places where children can go within the black ghetto. Capitalism benefits from poverty stricken communities, because it creates a black market, such as the drug trade in order to entrap career criminals to be imprison in the prison pipeline capitalism 101.
Drug Gangs has a great influence on children in those neighborhoods. They are lured by the fast money as drug dealers or gun traffickers. Though Emmanuel never joined a gang, he occasionally found himself in a group of shady neighborhood kids, who committed petty crimes. Emmanuel steered completely clear of wrong doers, as he tries to be a model citizen. Emmanuel was chased out of his former community by criminals and street thugs during his street campaign.
He relocated in North Chicago and begin creating online groups in 1991. Emmanuel continues to share his computer knowledge and resources with people on his friends list and people in his social groups with finding college scholarships/grants; nonprofit grants; housing; legal services; create basic websites; podcast/webinars and employment on a national level all for free.
He is on 300 social networks and he correspond with 125,000 people worldwide spreading his vision and trying to convince others to join his cause. His story presents the other America. His book mentions that children as young as ten years old are already engaged in urban violence, and gang membership. There are several points Emmanuel mention in his book which are useful in understanding the social context of the urban poor in America.
First, his story addresses some of the causes of domestic violence within the black community. Emmanuel points out that the youth are robbed of their innocence by their social environment. Their attitudes are shape by violence that they encounter on a daily basis due to neglect from the broader society which is why Emmanuel is pushing for new leadership in Black America through his organization.
He also plan on starting a new independent political party which will be compatible to the dominate culture. He wants the community to be an equal partner in his organization. Their first goal is to change the current gun laws and to work with other communities beyond the black community in order to build trust with the community he plans to serve. More resources are given from the federal government to combat international terrorism, because capitalism have an interest in protecting commerce more than urban terrorism which effects those who are trapped in American ghettos. Secondly, his book presents the case that children could succeed if given a chance. Emmanuel exemplifies this by excelling when given the chance to attend college. The story also reveals a gross violations of human rights, depriving most of the youths of chances of successful futures.
Established black organizations and career politicians who are supposed to maintain peace and order as well as look after the welfare of the community are the ones who are usually caught up in corruption. For him they are the ones largely responsible for the horrendous living conditions in the black ghettos of America.
Once we start holding our auditions pending on my budget I will help send for you and help pay for your hotel stay just as long as you are keeping the lines of communication open with me. If you are selected during our audition to be in the film then I will discuss compensation with you. I want all of my supporters to help me make GRCAI into the best African American business in the United States and also help turn my business into a multi-million dollar business so that I can create legitimate jobs to millions of our clients and members who live in our urban communities. This campaign is to get this movie made in order for me to start my organization so that we can end urban violence, poverty, structural inequality, institutionalized racism, and police brutality within the communities and cities we will serve.

I desire to reconnect with my ancestral homeland Africa. I plan on hiring brave and smart African Immigrants in America to assist me in setting up 10 chapters on the African continent. Those of you who live in Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Angola, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda please encourage your family and friends who reside in Canada, Europe and the United States to purchase my revised book and read my story. We will go through the proper channels with their government to start our (NGO) Non-government organization. We will offer private employment to our clients and members based on our budget and our sponsorship. We will provide infrastructure for clean running water, agricultural technology to feed the people, and most of all help improve the African economy as well as educate the people about the problems with Capitalism and show them an alternative GRCAM. In time, we will expand to Brazil and the Caribbean Islands.
Film is the truest medium for creating a fertile ground for education. The future of our communities of color is directly tied to the expansion of our experiences, the depth and breadth of our reach and interaction with other communities and the framework from which our talent can stand front and center. Our vision is to see an informed and talented community coming together to exchange ideas and strategies for improving the black community as a whole.
Our goal is to provide programing that is attractive to an audience that is as diverse as our City of Chicago. Through our pricing, the access services, and programing we hope that everyone can find a place of enjoyment in GRCAI.
GRCAI objective is to promote films and videos that dissent radically in form, technique, or content from the mainstream and to present adventurous works that challenge and transcend commercial and audience expectations. We will display documentary and experimental features, shorts, and music videos, along with live music, discussions and other networking and community building events. It’s a promise of more than just entertainment, but a total experience.

Internships
Once I have my management team in place then we will offer paid internship in terms of a stipend for our Theatre program for our members based on our budget and sponsorship. GRCAI will offer a rich and challenging experience for qualified high school and college students who are preparing for careers in theatre. This program gives interns the opportunity to dive into the acting world through close interaction with our artists.
The level of responsibility entrusted to GRCAI interns requires that they be mature, self-reliant, articulate, dynamic and eager to learn about the different facets of theatre in a very hands-and highly collaborative environment. Intern duties will vary depending on the internship. All internships include administrative duties assigned by the General Manager. Show-specific internships will have a stronger production focus.
This may mean running crew for a show, assistant stage-managing and/or helping our technical director or production team as needed. Summer internships will focus more strongly on administrative duties. Most importantly, the value an individual will reap from this experience will be highly dependent upon his/her motivation and interest in his/her work.
Interns will be expected to work between 10 to 15 hours a week. A specific schedule will be negotiated between the intern and the general manager. The awarding of academic credit is at the discretion of the intern’s high school, college or university. Upon request, GRCAI will be happy to provide documentation of the intern’s activities and performance.
